Now, with a bike installed, let's take a closer look at these features. Now, this platform rack cantilevers away from your vehicle to give you access to the trunk of your car. Once it tilts away, we can open it up. We can get whatever we might need out of the trunk, and then we're good to go. Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Ford Flex- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2019 Ford Flex, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Four Timer, four bike platform rack, part number Y02469. Now we have a bike installed, let's take a closer look at some of the features. One feature I want to start off with first is that while we have a setup for a four bike configuration right now we can just remove this nut and bolt, and we can take off the two bike addition to convert it to a two bike rack. That's going to conserve some space that's added onto the back of your vehicle, if you don't want to quite take four bikes out.This bike rack can also tilt away from the vehicle. We're going to come and pull this gray pin on the other side. We'll let that hang. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Flex- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Flex we're doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro Platform Style 2 bike rack. That part number is TH9034. We already have our bike secured down here. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Flex th9029xt- Video
Today on our 2014 Ford Flex, we're doing a test of the Thule Vertex hanging style 4 bike rack, designed to work with 1 1/4" and 2" hitches. The part number for that is TH9029XT. First thing we'll do is take a look at how our bike is mounted to the rack. We've got 2 cradles holding that bike in with 3 straps, 2 on the frame, and then one as your anti-sway strap in the back. It's going to keep a lot of the shake and play out of the bike as you're heading down the road, so you don't have to worry about it damaging your vehicle. To remove those, we'll first start with our frame straps, and we'll just pull down and lift up. more

Today our 2013 Ford Flex we'll be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Swinging 4 bike rack. That's part number TH9031XT. It's for 2 inch hitches. I've already got it loaded up in the receiver here as you can see to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like on the back of the Flex. Let's go ahead and get it tightened up with our included anti-rattle bolt. This does require a tool to get it tightened down. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Flex, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex Tilting 4-bike rack. That's part number TH9029XT. I've already got it loaded on the receiver as you can see there just to give you a good idea what it's going to look like on the back of your vehicle. It could be used for 1 1/4 or 2-inch hitches. Let's go ahead and tighten that down with our included anti-rattle bolt. Now, this does require a tool to do so. It does come with one but today we're just going to be using a socket wrench to tighten it down. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Flex and we'll going to be test fitting part number TH934XTR. This is the Thule Hitching Post Pro Folding and Tilting Four Bike Rack with Anti-sway Cradles. Now, to begin our test fit we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line-up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is approximately 6-1/2 inches. more

Rhode Gear Highway Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Flex we'll be test fitting part number RG8015220. This is the Rhodegear highway 2 bike carrier for both 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches. Now, to begin our test fit we'll simply slide our bike rack shank using the included adapter for 2 inch hitches into the hitch. We'll line-up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anit-rattle bolt and just like that our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point we'll give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 7 inches. more

Now we'll go ahead start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then we'll tighten down the anti-rattle bolt, then we'll install the safety clip on the other side. All right, with the bike rack installed, let's go ahead and get some clearance measurements. At its closest point from the bike rack to the bumper, we're looking at four and a half inches. Ground clearance looks like 14 1/2 inches. more

One thing to know about this bicycle rack, that it is designed for two-inch receiver hitches only. Now we'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then we'll go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. Okay, with the bike rack installed, let's go ahead and get some clearance measurements. From the security cable loop on the bike rack to the bumper, is going to be three inches. Ground clearance is going to be around 11 inches. more

Few things to know about this bicycle carrier, is that it will work inch and a quarter receiver hitches both class one and class two. However, on class one hitches, you're limited to carrying just two bicycles. Now this will also work with a two-inch receiver hitch with the included spacer and that's what we're working with today. We'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, we'll make sure that the integrated hitch pin snaps in securely and then we'll go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle device. Okay one quick note about this bicycle rack that it is designed for 2-inch receivers only. We'll go ahead and install in our hitch, we'll slide an anti-rattle bolt and install a lock on the other side. Now with our bike installed, let's go ahead and give you some measurement that will give you an idea of clearance between the bumper and bike rack and the bike rack and the ground. Looks like bumper clearance is just under half an inch and ground clearance is 11 and 1/4 inches. more

One quick note about this bicycle rack is that will work of 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches, class 2 only, with the included adapter. In this application, we're using a 2-inch receiver. Alright we will start off by installing the bicycle rack into the hitch, and installing the anti-rattle bolt, and then tightening it down, and then installing the safety pin on the other side. Alright today on this 2009 Ford Flex were going to do a quick test fit of part number TH990XT from Thule, the Thules Doubletrack Platform Style bike rack. This bike rack will fit 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches class one and class two. Well be using it on a class three receiver hitch with the included bushing. Alright well go ahead and install it into the hitch, install the anti-rattle bolt, and then the lock on the other side. Now Thule does supply a tool to tighten down the bolt, however a inch wrench will work just as well. Alright now we will give you a couple measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the vehicle, and the bicycle rack and the ground. more
